Die Nachfrage nach Roségold ist in den letzten Jahren gestiegen, was vor allem auf die Beliebtheit bei bekannten Schmuckmarken und die Werbung durch Prominente zurückzuführen ist. Heute ist Roségold eine eigenständige Größe und ein ernstzunehmender Konkurrent zu Gelb-, Weißgold und Platin.
Roségold entsteht durch die Legierung von reinem Gold mit Kupfer- und Silberlegierungen, um den rosa Farbton zu erzielen und eine willkommene Abwechslung zu den Klassikern Gold und Silber zu bieten.

Ovale Medaillons sind wohl die traditionellste aller Formen. Das liegt daran, dass ein Porträt (eine Darstellung der Schultern und des Kopfes der abgebildeten Person) ganz natürlich in ein Oval passt. Wie funktionieren Medaillons?
Dank eines kleinen, unauffälligen Scharniers an der linken Seite lassen sich die Medaillons wie ein Buch öffnen und geben den Blick auf einen Raum frei, der Platz für zwei Gegenstände bietet – einen in der linken Vertiefung und einen in der rechten.
Früher trugen die Menschen Haarsträhnen oder sogar Asche bei sich, doch heute wird dieser Raum meist mit einem Porträtfoto ihrer Liebsten gefüllt.Diese Fotos werden entsprechend zugeschnitten und sorgfältig in die Form des Medaillons geschnitten (z. B. herzförmige, ovale oder runde Medaillons). Anschließend werden sie vorsichtig in die Vertiefung geschoben, wobei darauf geachtet wird, das Foto nicht zu knicken.
Das Foto wird durch den äußeren Rand des Medaillongehäuses an seinem Platz gehalten. Zum Schutz der Fotooberfläche wird eine durchsichtige Kunststofffolie darüber gelegt.

Heart Lockets

Oval Lockets
Oval lockets are arguably the most traditional of all the shapes. This is because a portrait (a painting of the subjects shoulders and head) naturally fits within an oval. As such, when photographs were not yet widespread and tiny paintings were commissioned to be inserted into the locket, oval lockets were the obvious choice.
Round Lockets
Round lockets are becoming increasingly popular due to their classic look and timeless design, and reflect other women's pendants that are in vogue.
Locket Chains
Although some people wear their locket as a ‘charm’ attached to a bracelet around their wrist, most chose to wear theirs as a pendant necklace. How do lockets work?
With a small, disguised hinge to the left side, lockets open like a book to reveal a space to hold two items - one in the left hollow and the other in the right. In the past people have carried locks of hair or even ashes, but now most commonly this space is filled with a portrait photograph of their loved one(s).
These photographs are resized appropriately and delicately cut into the corresponding shape of the locket (i.e. heart shaped, oval, or round lockets). They are then carefully slid into the hollow, ensuring not to crease the photo. The photo is held in place by the outside rim of the locket casing. To protect the surface of the photo a clear plastic film is positioned on top.
